Inspection under Jal Shakti Project begins in Dwarka societies

Today a team Kapashera District Head Quarter officers visited Dwarka to inspect the residential, educational, commercial units for Rain Water Harvesting and water conservation. 

The visit was planned under the Central Government Scheme Jal Shakti. The team comprised  of a nodal officer for the scheme from Central Government and Joint Secretary Priti Nath, the IAS (Probation) Saumya Sharma, SDM Head Quarter Arun Kumar, DJB officials and DDA officials.

The team checked  water harvesting system at Sector 10 Metro Station. After that they visited DJA(Delhi Journalist Association) CGHS Sector 13 and interacted with the management over water conservation system. 

Nodal Officer Priti Nath told the society to develop a system so that the grey water from bathroom sinks, showers, tubs, and washing machines could be used for gardening to save the fresh water. She also confirmed if the RWH System was functional or not. 

Former President of the society Jai Kumar Sharma told the team of the officials that the entire system for RWH was functioning properly. He also said that the society would soon start using waste water from kitchen and RO for gardening purpose.

The officers also visited a school in Sector 3, a hospital in Sector 12 and the newly developed Rose Garden by DDA at Sector 16D.

In a conversation with City Spidey, SDM Headquarter, Arun Kumar said that a visit would be carried out in Najafgarh area and  more visits will be planned in Dwarka. He emphasised upon making the Jal Shakti Scheme successful in the area.
