With the aim of developing a nursery inside the park, the authority planted saplings of different flowers and fruit bearing plants.

Under an environment improvement programme, Ghaziabad Development Authority planted 5000 saplings at a park in Indirapuram on Saturday. The drive took place at Green Park, situated next to the National Highway 24.

The event,started in the morning and was inaugurated by VK Singh (Retd General of Army), Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Member of Parliament from Ghaziabad constituency. 

Speaking on the event, Singh said that such drives should keep happening to improve the green cover of Ghaziabad. He also appealed to the public for participation in such drives.

With the aim of developing a nursery inside the park, the authority planted 5000 saplings of different flowers and fruit bearing plants in the park.

"We have planted saplings of Jamun, Neem, Gulmohar, Acacia, Maulshree and many other varieties," said an official of horticulture department of GDA.
