After my long meeting and discussions with the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC)officials, the neighbouring park of Sector 18A Dwarka recently received equipment for its open gym and other recreational items for children.
My fight to get the park equipped began in 2017, when I became a member of the women managing committee at Crescent Apartments Sector 18A, Dwarka. At that time I felt that the park, which is surrounded by six apartments was not in good condition. Later, with the help of my peers, I learned the art of approaching government officials and raising our concerns.
In order to get the park equipped, I started putting my efforts to meet our area's councillor, Nitika Sharma. In March 2018, I along with my committee members met her. She assured to take up our issues.
In order to make the area green, our committee members and the SDMC officials, held a plantation drive. At that moment, there was no provision to even water the plants. My committee members are in talks with the DDA officials to get STP (sewer treated water)for the park to maintain it.
Earlier only a few people visited the park, but now the numbers have increased. In the coming days, the park will soon get swings for children.TAGS: South Delhi Municipal Corporation / SDMC / Dwarka parks / residential society
