Gurugram: Three-day-long volleyball tournament concludes at Vatika City

A three-day-long volleyball tournament was concluded at Vatika City, a residential society in Sector 49, Gurugram, amid lots of enthusiastic participation and support from the people.

The tournament was inaugurated by Ravi Kalra, founder of an NGO, Earth Saviours. 

On this occasion, Vatika City's RWA President Giriraj Gupta; General Secretary Anil Malhotra; Joint Secretary Jyoti Ahuja and Vice President Satyawan Dagar were present.

Hundreds of residents including women and children of the society thronged the venue and cheered for their favourite teams. 

A total of 64 players from eight-teams such as EMOI, Needs, Jalongi, RAW, Wingreens, Med Harbour, Spectra, Tyrocare participated in the tournament.

The final match in the competition was played between the EMOI and the RAW teams wherein EMOI team was declared as the winner. Manish Arora, captain of EMOI team was very excited after winning the tournament.

During the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest, the Vice-President of Volleyball Association and BJP leader Gopichand Gehlot were present and given away the trophy to the winning team.

Dinesh Mudra, Sports Head of Vatika City RWA said, “The society lacked the volleyball court. Everyone contributed to a make a volleyball court in the premise. This sport is very popular in society. This is the second edition of the tournament.  Around 15 matches were played between the eight teams of Vatika City.”
