As Noida police's Operation Clean programme continues, a man was robbed at gunpoint by two masked bike-borne riders in broad daylight in front of his son's residential apartment based in Sector 77, Noida.
The incident took place around 7.30 am when the victim, Vinod Kumar was returning home after a morning walk.
The CCTV footage shows criminals riding the motorbike on the wrong side of a road and approaching the victim. Later, the two surrounded Kumar and stole all valuables from him at a gunpoint.
Sacred of the gun, Kumar handed over his chain, four rings, and a gold bangle to the thieves.
Ajay Kumar Agarwal, station house officer with Sector 49 police station, said that he had received Kumar's complaint. Agarwal said, "An FIR has been registered against two unidentified men under section 392 for looting. Police is now investing in the case."
A resident, after watching the CCTV footage said that if Kumar had asked for help, he would have got it, because there was a school bus and other people nearby.
Deepak Kumar Jha, president of the society, said, "We have asked the residents and people from nearby areas to be vigilant while walking on roadsides. If they are cautious from such crimes, they may be able to defend themselves well."
