Several residents from Sector 62 and others, who are part of an NGO named ‘Hamaara Kartavya,’ on Sunday carried out a plantation drive to commemorate the heroes who sacrificed their lives while fighting for the nation during Kargil War.
They planted several saplings at open space beside vegetable market in Block-B, Sector 62, Noida. Several underprivileged kids joined them and assisted them in the plantation drive.
Manoj Kataria, a resident told that the drive was taken out a day after Kargil Vijay Divas was observed. He said, “We paid homages to heroes of Kargil War by planting saplings, which will help in improving the air quality of the city.”
Dinesh Pandey, founder of the NGO told that human beings are attached with nature and trees.
They have been maintaining this relation since past several decades. He said, “Trees are not only increasing the exterior beauty of homes but also help in improving air quality which we all breathe in.”
