Dwarka: RWA of Gangotri Apartments demands cleaning of storm water drains

Residents Welfare Association (RWA) of Gangotri Apartments in Sector 12, Dwarka, is demanding the cleaning of storm water drains inside the premises from South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) for a long time now.

According to RWA, drains of the society have not been cleaned for a long time. President of the society Umesh Kala said that the SDMC had to clean the drains before the rain but they didn’t do it.

Besides, he mentioned that the stagnant water in the drains is posing threat to vector borne diseases.

“Corporation should have cleaned it on time and it must happen every year before rainy season. We are facing problems due to poorly maintained drains by SDMC,” he added.

As per the RWA, letters have been written to the civic bodies regarding the drains and their maintenance but nothing happened in that direction.

General secretary of RWA, Ashok Kumar Atri said, “The drains are telling the truth of callousness by SDMC. I could not understand that why they don’t take it seriously and clean it properly. They should do it as soon as possible.”

On the subject, leader of the house SDMC, Kamaljeet Sherawat said to take the subject into concern and do the needful.
