With an aim to draw authority's attention towards damaged and overflowing sewage lines in the area, residents recently filed a complaint with Noida Authority CEO, Ritu Maheshwari, seeking her attention to solve their problem.

In the complaint, residents expressed their concern over the blocked sewage lines that results in an overflow of the sewage water on the roads as well as in the nearby parks.

"The Sewer lines overflowing at F-56 to F-62 of sector-51, Noida and Sewer water accumulate on the road of the gali (street) from F-55 to F-69. Which create a lot of inconvenience to the residents of that gali (street) and all drains of sector 51 are full of sewer water. Which is against the NGT NORMS. The Children's park of sector 51 is also full of sewage water as the toilets and shops (constructed but locked) are overflowing due to blocked sewer lines of sector-51, Noida," the written complaint stated.

Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary of RWA, sector 51 said, "The monsoon is already here, and residents are going to face difficulties with a blocked drain line, which will cause waterlogging."

Kumar further said, "It is going to be the fifth consecutive year when residents are forced to suffer due to flood-like situations. Several times, the authorities had given them assurances to solve the issue, but the lines were not cleaned."

As per the reports, the underground sewage pipelines got damaged during construction works of metro rail project. Though the metro line is functioning now, but the concerned authority did not bother to repair the damage.

After the complaint was made, the authority has instructed officials to begin the cleaning works. "A super sucker will be deployed to clean the underground sewer lines," said the project engineer.
