Chief Executive Officer of Noida Development Authority, Ritu Maheshwari, on Thursday, inaugurated the first pink toilet in the busy Sector 50 market.
On the occasion, Maheshwari said, "The facility will help women who have come here to shop or they are just passing by. Considering their convenience, this facility has been developed in the most visited place of the sector.
The washroom has total of five toilets, one sanitary pad vending machine and a separate room for breastfeeding. The authority has also placed chair-cum-bench where women can wait in case the place is occupied by other women.
Maheshwari said, "nine pink toilets are under construction and they would be ready shortly. A private firm has developed it, which is also responsible for maintaining it."
The timings of the toilets are between 8.00 am to 8.00 pm for the users.
"One of the users said that the toilets will bring much-needed respite to the women, especially with babies. As it would give them the privacy which was not there earlier," said Priya Singh, a resident of Sector 50.
Other toilets are in progress at Sector 74 nearby north-eye chowk; Sector 135 near ABC Rigas Building; Greater India Place Mall besides foot over bridge, near Sector 18 Police outpost; near sector 62 metro station; in sector 39 near Girls Degree College; Sector 65 IT Park; in Sector-1 near Indian Oil crossing; and in Sector 16 near metro station.TAGS: Pink Toilets / Noida city / Noida Authority / Noida Industrial Development Authority / Ritu Maheshwari / Sector 50
