To facilitate last-mile connectivity, Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) in collaboration with Mobycy on Thursday launched an e-bike sharing services. Now, the commuter can cover a short mile distance in a greener and cost-effective manner through Mobycy app-based e-scooters, e-bikes, and cycles.

The GMCBL Joint Chief Executive Officer, Ashok Bansal launched the mobile application at HUDA City Center metro station. "Daily commuters are the prime beneficiaries of this development, as now they can easily rent an electric bike or e-scooter from Mobycy's app to complete their last-mile commute," said Ashok Bansal.

These e-scooters or e-bikes will be available across GMCBL bus stops including HUDA City Center Metro, Sohna Road, Golf Course Road, IFFCO Chowk etc.

In order to avail a ride, commuters can simply locate the e-scooter in the close vicinity from Mobycy app and unlock the same by scanning a digital QR code via the app. Commuters can rent out these e-bike for Rs. 2 per minute and Rs 149 for 24 hours. They can also take a monthly subscription of Rs. 499 in which they can a avail two rides of half an hour daily.

Commenting on the launch, Mobycy co-founder Akash Gupta said, "As of now we have started with 500 e-scooters and bikes which have been deployed at GMCBL bus stops and we are planning to increase the number up to 3000 over the next year."

Mobycy already has a pilot programme across various stations of Rapid Metro Gurugram, including Sector 53-54 and Sector 55-56 stations, DLF Cybercity and Sector 44.
