SDMC promises Dwarka residents of proper garbage management

Leader of the House, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), Kamaljeet Sehrawat, assured the people of Dwarka that there will be proper management of garbage in the city. She said it today in a meeting with the team of Dwarka Forum, an umbrella resident body of Dwarka comprising RWAs and managements of the societies. Kamaljeet said that she would take all the possible steps for proper garbage management.

In the meeting held today at Kamaljeet Sehrawat's house, Dwarka Forum discussed and briefed her on water logging in several parts of Dwarka sub city and delay in collection of garbage from some areas. They also said that the garbage is not cleaned properly from many dhalaos too.

They also told the leader of the house that garbage is dumped in and around open Palam drain particularly adjoining sector 11 societies. Solid Waste Management, segregation and composting was also talked about. They even discussed about SDMC taking possession of market plot of Block -A, Sector-8 Dwarka. They requested Ms Sehrawat for appointment of SDMC's nodal officer exclusively for Dwarka Sub City.

Treasurer of Dwarka Forum, P Menon said, “ We requested her to arrange and coordinate a joint meeting with SDMC and DDA to discuss and sort out the common issues related to both the departments.” It was also decided that Dwarka Forum would submit her a list of some important issues of Dwarka sub city which come under the jurisdiction of South Delhi Municipal Corporation.

The meeting was attended by Sushil Kumar - President, Sunil Sarin - Vice President, Arvinder Singh Chatwal - General Secretary, P Menon - Treasurer and PB Mishra - Executive Member.
