Potholed roads irk South City 2 residents

The residents of South City-2 in sector 49 and Sector 50 are having a harrowing time due to potholes on roads in the vicinity.

They said that several stretches in the sector are riddled with potholes causing problems for the residents. Vipin Khanna, a resident of South City 2 said, "The condition of the roads is pathetic and due to rain they become dangerous and prone to accidents. Many residents have met with minor accidents while commuting. It has been a decade since the developer did anything to make the colony better."

The residents shared that the since the inception of the colony in 2006, no single road was re-carpeted by the developer and on being questioned about the poor condition of roads, they simply blamed the authority and Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG).

SN Bharadwaj, President South City 2 RWA said, "Since the time of announcement of the transfer of the colony to the MCG, the developer is overlooking the development work. Several roads including internal roads of the blocks have developed cracks. The road from the main gate to L block is in pathetic condition."

They alleged that despite repeated complaints to the developer, MCG and local MLA, no action has been taken to provide any relief to the residents. "We are running from pillar to post to initiate the development work in our colony and we get nothing in return." Bharadwaj lamented.

Meanwhile, when CitySpidey tried to contact the Unitech maintenance team they refused to comment on the matter.
