Raj Nagar Extension residents couldn't have been more happier than this as their wait for a bus stop is finally over. The bus stop was inaugurated on Saturday by MLA of Sahibabad, Sunil Sharma. Sharma waved the green flag to buses on the spot. The buses will start plying from Monday.
Raj Nagar Extension falls en route to Meerut and the residents of the area have been demanding the bus stop for years. The bus stop has been officially added to the list to the bus stops. Now people can buy tickets till the stop.
A total of 13 buses have been allotted to run from Anand Vihar to Meerut on this road. An official of district transport department said, “ The number will increase gradually.”
Anil Tyagi, a resident of the area said that opening of the bus stop will make commuting easy for the residents. "Earlier, we had to go to Mohan Nagar to take bus for Anand Vihar or Meerut, now the facility is just a walk away from home," he added.
Meanwhile, inauguration of the bus stop is a good news for metro travellers as well. "Earlier we had to change autorickshaw at Mohan Nagar in order to reach home from Vaishali metro station. Now we can reach Raj Nagar Extension directly," said Pratima Rath, a resident of Raj Nagar Extension.
