A contractor was fined with Rs 2 lakh for a defunct fountain, at a road connecting Noida and Greater Noida.
Waste management contractors may soon be fined if they fail to abide by the Greater Noida Development Authority’s latest mandate.
As per the circular issued by the authority, contractors who are not complying with the directions of the authority will be fined.
The decision was taken after Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Greater Noida Development Authority, Narendra Bhushan conducted an inspection to make sure that the appointed contractors were working under the laid rules. Several parts of the city are being earmarked for immediate redressal. Garbage disposals, green area management, broken drains are among others which are being ordered for a quick fix by the CEO.
In the same drive, a contractor was fined with Rs 2 lakh for a defunct fountain, at a road connecting Noida and Greater Noida cities.
“CEO has directed the officials to conduct inspection drive and ensure that fountain to be made operational as soon as possible. He also directed to take tough action against those found violating waste management rules,” said a spokesperson.
