One of the biggest societies of sector 7, Brahma Apartments, Dwarka is on a green note this monsoon as they have been carrying out plantation drive since few days. The society is doing their every bit to keep their green area maintained. Today, they planted fruit trees. Everyone from women to children planted tress to spread the message of greenery and save environment.
A social worker and resident of Brahma Apartments, Munish Kundra said, “Children were happy to plant trees along with elderly. Fruit trees like guava and blackberry were planted along with other native trees. We want to promote such type of plantation which could give fruits and keep environment clean.”
Not only residents of Brahma apartments, but residents of Gangotri apartments in sector 12 too carried out plantation drive. They planted about 50 trees of native species and fruits. RWA president, Umesh Kala said that they not only planted the trees but also vowed to keep those plants properly maintained.
“All who planted the trees adopted those plants. This is a new initiative this time in the society. We want to make the community understand that apart from planting it is very important to keep plants properly maintained.” Kala said that more plantation would be done in the coming weeks.
