Resident Speak: Dark streets making Dwarka unsafe

In Dwarka, there are several roads that are not equipped with an appropriate number of street lights, while there are some streets that have dim lights, which makes the area unsafe for locals.

I have observed this in several stretches. The road from Carmel Chowk up to Sai Baba Mandir near Bharat Petroleum petrol pump is one of many such roads that is facing this issue. Apart from this, internal roads in sectors 5,6,7,10 and 12 also have dim lights or no lights at all, which makes them unsafe for people. In Sector 7 some of the internal roads are completely dark. These dark roads are in a dire need of LED lights. Apart from this, the trees on these lanes also need trimming.

No light or poor light on the streets make a heavenly place for anti-social elements. Moreover, these dark sections also help thieves to conduct robberies in the residential flats. Near market areas or malls if the lights are dim, the situation can become more vulnerable.

Hence, I request the electrical department BSES to look into the subject and do the needful.
