Gaur City: Enter the residents

After a high-octane battle with the builder, residents of the Noida Extension society gain free entry into the stadium.

Gaur City: Enter the residents

After nine back-to-back protests in the last 45 days, the residents of Gaur City, Noida Extension, eventually won the war against the builder. The residents decided to fight it out after the builder imposed a fee for entry into the society’s stadium. Be it doing yoga in front of the stadium’s main gate or taking to ‘roadgiri’, if you will, there was no backing down.

Ceding to their demand, the builder has finally allowed residents free entry into the stadium for physical training and exercise. But the permission comes with a rider.  Manoj Gaur, managing director of Gaursons India Limited, said while entry is free, use of other amenities like the club house and gymnasium will require paid membership.

Jitendra Bhatt, a Gaur City resident, told City Spidey that the builder will provide them with smart cards for entry into the stadium. Every family will have one smart card, and four members will be allowed in with that card. Earlier, the builder had asked for an annual fee of Rs 4,500 per adult and Rs 3,500 for minors.

After a meeting with Rohit Sharma, the vice-president of Gaur City, the residents finally got their way, adds Malkeet Singh, a resident.
