A couple of hours of rain in Greater Noida was enough to expose flaws in the construction of roads. Parts of the city witnessed severe waterlogging, even the well-planned areas failed to withstand the heavy downpour.
Roads at many places were reportedly collapsed, leaving several people injured. One such incident was reported at dhada golchakkar in Greater Noida in which a person, who was riding a motorbike, got injured after a road caved in. The incident resulted in severe injuries on his head. The victim was later admitted in Kailash Hospital in Greater Noida.
The victim was identified as Gaurav Nagar, a resident of a nearby village. People blamed Greater Noida authority for not conducting a survey of roads before the monsoon, which is now resulting to such incidents. Residents also complained that the area gets completely dark in the evening as there are no street lights.
Several highrises in the area are under construction, in coming days the area is going to be a prominent area. Haridner Bhati, an active citizen, claimed he has complained to the Greater Noida Authority in this regard.
