A man was stuck for 30 minutes in an elevator of VVIP Style Mall located in Raj Nagar Extension.
The incident happened on Friday when the man, in his twenties, identified as Saurabh Dwivedi, boarded the elevator around 1:30 pm. "An alarm placed in lifts to signal emergency went off in the afternoon and we rushed to check what happened there. After going there, we got to know that the lift was stuck due to a technical fault," told Ravish Tyagi, manager of the mall, which is situated near VVIP society.
"The alarm was raised by the man and since he couldn't be rescued without repairing that fault, therefore it took us a little time to save him. Meanwhile, we were communicating with the man stuck inside and also kept assuring him that he will be rescued as soon as possible," Tyagi added.
The management also said that through a little opening in the lift, the man was provided water and juices till the time he was rescued.
Finally, he was rescued after half an hour. However, for the precaution, the elevator was stopped for the next few hours but started running later in the day.
