Bad road and water logged potholes make daily commute insufferable for the residents of sector 37 C and D in Gurgaon. The problems have persisted for so long that they have almost become a norm for residents of the area.
Residents informed that the main approach road for the sectors from Alpine school towards NBCC Green View apartment is marred with innumerable potholes causing them lot of difficulties. To worsen the situation, these potholes double up as deadly puddles once it rains.
Hemant Kumar, a resident of BPTP Park Serene (a high-rise in Sector 37D) said, "There are at least six residential societies in the vicinity which are occupied and many more will be occupied in near future. Thousands of commuters are using this road and these potholes create lot of problem to the commuters. Especially motorists find it difficult to maneuver vehicles and the stretch has become prone to road accidents."
The residents informed that motorists often choose to drive on the wrong-side to avoid the stretch causing traffic troubles in the vicinity. "Commuting on this main road is a task for all. We are forced to suffer problems like illegal parking of heavy commercial vehicle, stray cattle, non-functional street lights to name a few," Kumar lamented.
The residents told City Spidey that the situation worsens during the rainy season. They said that the several times residents take initiative and temporarily fill potholes with debris but the solutions don’t last long. Vaibhav Tyagi, another resident of Park Serene said, "It is not a permanent solution and the concerned authority must rectify the situation as it is our right to live without worrying. This is a busy road and commuters are finding it difficult to commute without breaking their back."
Residents also said that several complaints have been lodged in this regards to the concerned authorities but to no avail. Yadvendra Yadav, resident of NBCC Green View said, "I have made several complaints on the matter on social media but nothing has been done so far. This is a main connecting road and children and senior citizen often get hurt while commuting. This is a new residential pocket and many of us have bought our homes in hope of getting facilities but here we are denied of basic amenities. The government should focus on our area and resolve the matter on priority."
Meanwhile, senior officials of GMDA said that there is an ongoing court case involving a portion of the road. The matter is sub-judice and there is a stay order on development work on the stretch. Work cannot be initiated until the matter is resolved.TAGS: Deadly potholes / Gurgaon / water logged / NBCC Green View apartment / Alpine school / BPTP Park Serene / GMDA
