Noida: Residents of Homes-121 organise mini-marathon for children

Residents of Homes-121, a high rise residential society in Sector 121, Noida on Sunday organised a mini-marathon for children of their society.

The mini-marathon began as early as 6 in the morning and continued for two hours. Children came along with their parents and participated with great enthusiasm. Residents including women, girls and children did Zumba dance to maintain their physical fitness.

While revealing detail of the event, Dinesh Singh, president of apartment owner association, Homes-121, said "The event received an overwhelming response from all the parents as they turned up to the venue along with their kids. They enjoyed it alot.”

Rajesh Singh, officer on special duty from Noida Development Authority, was also present at the event and encouraged all the children who participated in the marathon.

Abhay Pandey, a resident of the society said that several residents voluntered and came forward with an idea of holding a sports event for children of the society. They decided to hold a mini-marathon. He said, "Through the event, we wanted to inculcate a habit of maintaining physical fitness among the kids.”

Pandey said that the children who successfully completed the mini-marathon were given appreciation certificates.

Besides, Rajesh Singh reviewed the progress of segregated waste collection in the society. He appreciated the people of the society for their efforts in disposing off the wet waste.
