During the meeting, the residents demanded the construction of a fire station, a post office.
A group of residents from different high rises in 7X Sectors on Wednesday met with Ritu Maheshwari, chief executive officer of Noida Development authority to put forth a list of demands to develop basic amenities in their residential pockets.
During the meeting, the residents demanded the construction of a fire station, a post office, and development of a portion of a road that connects sector 79 to sector 78.
The residents, represented by Devender Singh, O P Sagar, Giriraj Behediya, Umesh Pandey, and Jitendra Kumar, shared the inconvenience faced by the people due to an undeveloped portion of a 120-meter long road in the sector. This road, which leads to Sector 79 from Sector 78, has been developed on the sides of these sectors. But the patch before Elite Greens Home was not developed due to land acquisition issue.
During the meeting, Brajesh Sharma said, "We urged the CEO to direct the concerned officials to speed up their process of acquiring the portion of the land, as it reportedly belongs to local farmers. Only then the matter will be solved."
Meanwhile, other members highlighted the need for a fire station in the vicinity. They told Maheshwari that the area is densely populated as a large number of high rise societies are in the area. However most of these projects, developed by private builders, lack basic arrangement of fire fighting equipment.
In this regard, the group representatives proposed a vacant plot to the authority, where they can develop a fire station.
"We have proposed a vacant plot for development of fire station in the areas so that the residents can get help if any fire breaks out. Currently, one station is in Sector 71 and it takes almost half an hour to reach our sector from Sector 71," Singh said.
Speaking about developing a post office in the sector, Sharma said, "It would be very convenient for thousands of residents residing in this sector if the facility is made available to them. The authority should give a piece of land for developing the post office."
The residents also suggested the CEO that the development works of the walkway between the two metro stations standing on two different corners of Sector 51 should be given priority. They told that if the project is developed with the approved mall, it would take a time of more than three years as the tender has been floated recently for the same. Much time will pass if the walkway is developed along the mall and commuters would suffer for that period.
Considering the problems and issues of residents CEO Maheshwari directed her officials to look into the matter and make proposal for solving them. She said, "The proposal should be presented before here within give time of period of 15 days started from now onward."
