Gurugram residents who are residing in sector-14, Sector-15 Part-1 and 2, sector-17A, B, C, DLF Phase-1, 2, 3, MG Road, sector-29, 30, 31, 32, 39, 40 , 42, 43 and other surrounding areas will get 30 percent less water supply from August 16 due to maintenance and repair of NCR Canal. The repair work will go on for 4-5 days.

In this regard, the Department of Irrigation and Water Resource has written a letter to Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) requesting that NCR water channel be repaired. Canal water cannot be supplied to the water treatment plants for at least four days.

According to senior officials of GMDA, from August 16 onward the plant will supply 120 MLD instead of 150 MLD. The irrigation department has asked to close the NCR water channel from August 16 to start the repair work.

On August 19, the Basai Water Treatment Plant will be closed for 24-36 hours and work will be done to change the pipeline.

Water is being stored by GMDA to reduce the drinking water crisis in city, however, GMDA has advised people to use water judiciously.
