Indirapuram: 73rd Independence Day celebrated at Shipra Sun City

Residents of Shipra Suncity on Thursday celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and fervour.

The  event was organised by the Apartment Owners Association (AOA) of Shipra Sun-city Ph-1, Indrapuram, in association with the “Walk the Himalayas” (WTH). The day began with a Prabhat Pheri and a parade led by a bagpiper band, that covered all streets of the residential complex. Residents danced and sang various patriotic songs during the parade.

On the occassion, City Magistrate of Ghaziabad, Yashvardhan Srivastava, was the chief guest. Shrivastava along with the President of Shipra Sun City Apartment Owners Association, Sharad Khandelwal, hoisted the flag.

During the programme, various cultural programs were also held, in which people appreciated the Street Play, “Vazood” organized by theatre group Sukhmanch Sanstha. The objective of this play was to highlight and emphasise the importance of “Women Empowerment” in our humanity. Vidisha Baliyan, Miss World (Differently Abled Group), was the highlight of the play, who highlighted the determination to overcome all the difficulties and complications with strong and positive attitude.

Other performances included Taal Academy's remix dance and a special performance by children of the Tapovan School Policy Section.

The event was also attended by members of AOA, Ashok Jain, Soumitra Jha, Siddhi Gopal Jha, Alok Kumar, Vinda Chawre, Ashish Shrivastava and Anurag Ranjan.
