Noida: Residents of Sikka Karmic Greens stage protest against developer

Residents of Sikka Karmic Greens, a high rise residential society in Sector 79, on Sunday launched a poster protest against the developer of the society. They complained that service being provided by the developer is not worth what they pay to the developer. They told the swimming pool is not being maintained as per the prescribed standard. The plaster of pool's surface and walls are broken. Due to this, the residents of society don't use it.

Several residents hanged posters in their balcony demanding solutions to their problems. They complained that when this information reached the developer, he ordered one of his maintenance officials to take snaps of all posters hanging in residents' balcony and share with him. When the official tried to take the snap, the residents objected stating that doing this is illegal.

The residents told that they started the protest as the developer was not solving their problems. The society lacks basic facilities. They told that the lifts are not being maintained properly due to which the residents often get stuck in them. About a month ago such incident happened when two minor girls got stuck in the lift while coming down from the sixth floor of a residential tower in the society.

Residents of the society told that seepage has already started coming from several walls in the society. The developer has not installed intercom service until now despite many residents residing here since the past several months.

Residents complained that though the developer charges maintenance fee from all residents, but they are not getting those services. When they ask the developer for details of the expenditure and the amount collected from the residents, he refuse to give them. Residents demanded that the developer should improve the service and also complete the remaining portion of construction in the society.
