Noida: Express Zenith residents complain against rainwater accumulation on road

Residents of Express Zenith, a high rise residential society in Sector 77, Noida, complained against rainwater accumulation on roadside. They said that accumulated rain water is an open invitation to vector-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria.

Manish Rajan, a resident of the society, shared this on twitter to draw attention of higher authority towards this issue. He lodged a complaint with Noida Industrial Development Authority seeking a quick action against this problem.

In his post, he said that water is flooding on roadside near Express Zenith apartments. The situation has been there since last one week. He said that he would appreciate if an action is initiated at the earliest.

According to sources from Antriksh Society, the developer has been pumping waste water from the society and flooding on roadside. This is the main reason that the waste water mixed with rain water is now getting accumulated on roads. Accumulation of water on roads give rise to vector-borne diseases.

Earlier, the authority had inspected the site and had found that pumping waste water on roads is against environmental rules. It had also slapped a hefty fine on the developer for violation of rules. But the developer is yet to take an action to solve this problem.

Besides this, the complainant also drew attention of the authority towards unauthorised vehicles parked on roadside before the society. He said that autos and other vehicles parked outside the society cause inconvenience to residents due to which incidents of chain snatching have also happened.
