Residents of Eco-Village 2 in Greater Noida West are set to celebrate Lord Krishna’s birthday - ‘Janmashtami’ in the society. Preparations are on full swing for the two-day mega event, which is being organised by the society members.
On August 23, residents will witness, children dressed in lord Krishna and Radha riding decorated tableau. On August 24, a special programme will be held in the main park located behind the C-4 and C-5 towers. On the second day, people will chant hymns and stories of of lord Krishna.
To make the occasion even more interesting, the organising team has decided to stage a play depicting the birth of Lord Krishna. "A group of children will stage a play on Krishna's birth. Each participant has been assigned a different role, which mainly includes characters of Krishna, Radha, Kansa, Sudama and other Gopiyan. The preparation for the play started a month ago, and a group of female residents has been preparing these young kids for Krishna Leela. The play will begin with the marriage of Devaki and Vasudeva and will end with the birth of Krishna," said Said Sanjeev Saxena, a resident of the society.
The two-day event is open for all residents, where people from different age groups can participate.
