Noida: Residents of Grihapravesh complain against water accumulation

Residents of Grihpravesh, high rise apartments in sector 77, lodged a complaint against water accumulation outside the society's exit gate. They said that the current state of spot is very unhygienic and it may result in widespread of infectious diseases in the area.

While developing the society, the developer had made a ramp near the main road for convenience of the people residing in the society. However, about a month ago, the ramp was dismantled for developing service lane.

Residents said that they don't have any objection if the service lane is constructed as it will only do good to them. But they were concerned about the dug up space that the contractor has left it open. The contractor was appointed by Noida Industrial Development Authority for developing service lane.

Pawan Singh, a resident of the society said that they dismantled the ramp through which they exited from the society. The service lane has not been developed yet inspite of the space being dug up which is now causing inconvenience to the residents.

He said, "The exit gate is closed as the slope made for passing of vehicles is damaged. The space before the gate is very deep due to which taking exit from this gate is not possible. We are now forced to use one gate for both entry and exit. Earlier, we used separate gates for entry and exit.

Singh complained that rain water has accumulated in the dug up place and it is now stagnating making it prone for mosquito breeding.

Another resident, Dev Sinha took to Twitter to draw attention of Noida authority towards these issues. He tagged the post to CEO of Noida and Noida authority. In his post he wrote that the authority has dismantled all the ramps which is now resulting in waterlogging. Waterlogging gives rise to vector-borne diseases such as Malaria, Dengue etc.

Though, the authority started levelling the space for development of service lane but could not continue the work due to downpour. Singh said, "If they were aware that they would not be able to finish the work on time due to monsoons, they wouldn't have dug up the space as the residents are suffering.”
