Noida: Homes-121 turns into dump yard

Noida Industrial Development Authority has recently started door to door waste collection in Noida.

Noida: Homes-121 turns into dump yard

The tall claim and promises made by Noida Industrial Development Authority for the door to door waste collections from houses in Noida has failed. Residents of Homes-121, a residential society in sector 121 Noida, complained against the irregular service by the agency hired for collection of waste from the society.

Dinesh Singh, President of Apartment Owner Association, on Thursday lodged a complaint with the authority. He made his complaint via Twitter. He tagged the post to CEO of Noida, MLA and MP of Noida seeking their attention towards the problem. In his Twitter post, he said that door to door garbage collection service is irregular as the vehicle comes once in four days to collect the waste from the society.

While raising voice against this irregular service, Singh also wrote to local Noida MLA, Pankaj Singh seeking his intervention for a solution to the problem. He said, “After a private agency was banned, the authority roped in another private agency for the door to door garbage collection service in the city. But this new agency did not deploy Tata Ace, a waste collecting vehicle, on a regular basis for the collection of garbage from the society.'' ''Due to this irregular service, the society has turned into a dump yard. Garbage is mounting in the society,” he added.

A few months back, Noida authority started door to door garbage collection services in the city. However, this service has not been provided to all the residents or housing societies in the city. The agency has started showing its real face. Dinesh added, "They switched off their mobile phones and do not respond to complaints made by residents like me. We urged our MLA to look into the issue and get it solved from the authority.”
