“Provide electricity, water connections to Amrapali flats”: GreNo Authority

In its board meeting on Thursday, Greater Noida Authority has decided to start the process of tripartite lease agreement of Amrapali projects where homebuyers are residing. Authority said it has also directed power and water department to provide connection in the flats.

The development has come following the Supreme Court’s direction last week in which the top court asked Noida and Greater Noida Authorities to start registration of flats of the beleaguered homebuyers.

“Following the directive of the Supreme Court on Amrapali homebuyers, we have discussed the issue in length and to comply with the order we have decided to start tripartite sub lease agreement and to provide water and electricity connections to the projects where residents are living,” said Narendra Bhushan, Chief Executive Office of Greater Noida Authority.

The tripartite lease deed will be between the flat owner, authority and the court appointed receiver but not the builder as the top court in its judgment on July 23 had canceled Amrapali group’s license.

Earlier, both the Noida and Greater Noida Authorities told the court that they have formed a special cell to resolve the problems of Amrapali homebuyers.

Bhushan also stated that Greater Noida Authority owns Rs 3700 crores land dues from Amrapali group which which will affect several development projects. The authority has decided to file a review petition to claim its money.

On July 23, the apex court along with cancellation of Amrapali's projects also held the authority responsible for not protecting the interest of homebuyers. The court had said that the dues of authority will be recovered from the sale of other properties which have been attached.
