Gurugram: Mahindra Aura residents demand action against society's RWA

Residents of Mahindra Aura, a residential society in sector 110 A, Gurugram, complained against the society's RWA and its President on Thursday to the district registrar of societies and firms seeking immediate action as per the HRRS Act.

They alleged that the RWA President is threatening the residents and demanded immediate dissolution of the RWA.

Rajat Khurana, a resident of the society said, "The RWA president barged into my house on August 12 in a drunken state with a stick. He threatened me and my family. It is astonishing that we feel insecure and live in fear even at our homes. They are creating this atmosphere so that we sell our house and leave the society."

An FIR has already been lodged at Bajghera Police Station against RWA president Yashesh Yadav on August 16 under IPC section 452 (Trespassing) and 506 (Criminal Intimidation).

The residents alleged that the RWA office was illegally occupied by using unfair and illegal means. Tejinder Pal Malik, a resident of the society said, "We have been raising the issue of fraud, forgeries, financial irregularities and malpractice of the current RWA since the last two years. Even after the residents passed no confidence motion against the RWA governing body in Special General Body Meeting in September 2018, they are still continuing the office. The authority has turned a blind eye on the issue. Now the RWA is threatening people and barging into their homes to intimidate them."

The residents alleged that the agencies were appointed without following the duly process and the contracts were awarded to those which were owned by RWA's relatives and have common business interests in other companies of the current management body. Another resident on the condition of anonymity said, "There is huge misappropriation of public funds. The RWA members are taking advantage of their positions. No approval for any appointment or change in security, manpower agencies was ever sought or approved in any GBM which is a serious violation of HRRS Act."

IS Yadav, District Registrar of Societies and Firms informed that he had constituted the body to conduct fresh elections a year ago, however RWA members went to the court citing that their tenure is not completed yet. The matter is still pending in the high court. On being asked about the fresh complaint by the residents he said, "My office has receive the complaint and we will be able to further comment on it after examining it."

Meanwhile when CitySpidey contacted Yashesh Yadav, President of Mahindra Aura, he refuted the claims by the residents. He said, "All these allegations are baseless. There are people who are trying to get power by creating problems and they are not letting us to do our work. We are being harassed by them."
