Goods stolen from parked vehicles by breaking glass of cars is becoming rampant in areas around the markets of sector 12, Dwarka. People are sharing their experiences with the community people on whatsapp groups to make others aware about the same. Yesterday a photograph was shared in Whatsapp Group ‘Dwarka City Solution’ which showed the picture of a broken glass of a car. The sender mentioned that the incident happened yesterday evening in market area of sector 12.

Many such incidents have been reported earlier from the same area. Looking at the situation, police hanged advisory on plates at parking spaces in the markets around Ashirvad Chowk. However, the incidents have not decreased. RK Singh a victim said, “In June, I went to sector 12 market area to buy sweets from a shop. I parked my car. And in just 15 minutes, my laptop and a handbag was stolen.” Similar incident happened with Eisha Gulati. She said that the thieves broke her car's window glass and stole her laptop, her husband's laptop and a hard drive.

People have said that theft in Dwarka happens in trends like if snatching happens then thieves focus on snatching only, if robbery at homes occurs then they rob homes. Residents of Dwarka have said that now theft of valubles by breaking glass of cars is the trend.

Vijay Sinha, a resident of sector 12 said, “Around 2011-12 many such incidents were happening in market areas. It stopped for a while and now has arrived again. It seems that a gang has become active. Police should take it seriously.” Rajeev Ranjan another resident of sector 12 said, “For couple of months such incidents are being noticed more from this area. It got stopped all of a sudden at the beginning of 2019 but now again it is there. It seems that after busting the gangs it gets stopped and after a certain period it starts. There must be some effective measures so that it could be checked effectively.”

On the subject, ACP Dwarka, Rajender Singh, assured that the people behind such incidents would be nabbed. He said that police is working on the subject and the result would come out soon.
