Residents of Mahagun Moderne, a high rise residential society in Sector 78, Noida complained against thick smoke coming out from a DG set in the society. They said that it is causing pollution.
Giriraj Bahediya, a resident of the society, took it to Twitter to draw attention of concerned authority towards violation of environment rules. In his Twitter post, he said that the noise and thick smoke coming out from the DG set in Mahagun Moderne is not in accordance with NGT’s (National Green Tribunal) rules. It is requested that an action should be initiated against violation of environment rules.
In a re-post, he tagged Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board and Noida Industrial Development Authority urging for prompt action.
Office bearer of Apartment Owner Association, Mahagun Moderne retweeted the post. In their post, they claimed that the developer had to provide a total of 11 DG sets to the society. But the society has got only 6 sets till date out of which one is hired. The DG set which is hired cause more noise and pollution. The concerned officer should initiate an action to solve the problem.
According to the environment rules, for running a DG set in gated society or at any other high rise building, an exhaust should be installed for clearing out the smoke. But the developer failed to arrange an exhaust. Due to which the residents are now complaining against the violation of environment rules.
Residents from other societies in Noida are also registering similar complaints. They are demanding that the concerned authority should take action against the service providers.
