Noida: Residents of Lotus Zing protest outside DM office demand basic amenities

Around 40 residents of Lotus Zing, a high rise in Sector 168, Noida on Sunday staged a protest outside the district administration office in Surajpur, demanding basic amenities for their society, where they had moved in a few months ago.

While protesting the residents said that the society lacks basic amenities like water supply and electricity. The developer had not obtained connections for the supply of power and water from the Noida Industrial Development Authority and Power Distribution Corporation (PVVNL) respectively.

A resident said, "It is very difficult for us to stay in the society where we are forced to consume groundwater, which contains high TDS which is not advised for human consumption. But neither the developer nor the district administration is coming forward to solve the problem despite a court order for the supply of water and electricity to the society.''

After meeting the district administration, the resident were told to meet with the sub-divisional magistrate for intervention as he may take action against the developer for obtaining the connection. They further complained that they were not satisfied with the response they had received and said that the authorities should come forward to solve the problems.

More than 500 families have moved in Lotus Zing but there no facilities including the drain.
