Noida: Amrapali Zodiac’s basement waterlogged again

For the fifth time on Tuesday, the basement of Amrapali Zodiac in Noida's sector 120, is water-logged because of a leakage in one of the sewage pipes.

The residents of the society are not just fighting for their ownership rights in the court, but are living in dire conditions.

Joginder Singh, a resident said, “This is the fifth time in the last 25 days when the sewage water has entered the basement where the cars of the residents are parked."

"There have been times when for two consecutive days the basement has been flooded with wastewater," Singh added.

The Jal Board will clean the water after the residents complain in writing, a resident said. While another resident said that such water becomes a heavenly place for mosquito breeding.

“The water-logging causes us a lot of trouble, the dengue mosquitoes breed in such water," said the resident.

MK Jain, a senior manager at Noida Jal board told CitySpidey that since the Jal board’s motor is installed in the basement, the water flows out when the motor becomes non-functional.

He added, “The motor gets damaged because of the overload, as the residents are not installing the CRV (Cryogenic Relief Valve) but my team is in the process to replace the motor and will flush out the water soon."

A CRV is a spring reference point that maintains the pressure in the device (motor). It is because of the absence of this brass structure that the motor gets overheated and gets damaged.
