A group of residents, including children, were stuck for around ten minutes in an elevator of Arihant Arden, a high-rise based in Greater Noida West, on Thursday morning.
The incident took place in Tower J of the complex when the residents and children were headed to their offices and schools respectively.
One of the victims told CitySpidey that there were around 8-10 people in the lift. "When the lift passed from the 6th floor we felt a jerk and suddenly it stopped working. There was a relief as the elevator's alarm was functioning and we were able to inform the management about the incident."
Another victim said that such incidents have taken place in other residential towers of the complex also. "An elderly was also in the lift who's daughter was waiting on the ground floor. Later, we came to know that she was a heart patient. Parents of school children were in a panic because they were about to miss their school buses," another resident of Tower J said.
The residents were evacuated after more than 10 minutes, as the lift key was with the lift management department. However, what caused sudden disruption in the lift was not immediately known.
