Noida: Century Apartment residents participate in 'Safaigiri'

Over three dozens residents of Century Apartment, a housing society in Sector 100, on Saturday participated in 'Safaigiri'.

'Safaigiri', which is a cleanliness drive organised by the Noida Industrial Development Authority, launched recently to improve Noida's rating in Swachh Bharat Survey 2020.

Wearing gloves, residents scanned each corner of their residential pockets and picked waste dumped on roadsides, behind the society as well as in the green belt area of their sector.

With an aim to make the drive a success, the resident welfare association of the society distributed gloves and garbage bags to all participants.

The association member informed that the residents were enthused for the drive. The drive started from around 7.00 in the morning and continued for the next two and a half hours. Several participants filled three packs of waste from the areas, informed a resident. He further said a similar drive will be conducted on Sunday as well.

Earlier, a similar drive was conducted last week in Sector 51. Residents of sector 51 and officials cleaned entire residential pockets and also identified civic issues of the sector. Later, actions were initiated to solve these issues.
