Even after the deadline to complete the work is surpassed by 9 months, the sewer line in the locality is yet to be connected with the mainline.
The Federation of Apartment Owners Association (FedAOA) wrote a letter to Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) reminding them to completed the pending works of water and sewage lines in the Ahinsa Khand II.
Even after the deadline to complete the work is surpassed by 9 months, the sewer line in the locality is yet to be connected with the mainline. The work was started on June 20 last year and was due for completion by December 2018. Because of the delay, the sewer line in the locality stays dysfunctional even after laying down its structure.
In the absence of water and sewer services, the societies are forced to dump their sewer waste via private contractors and the level of groundwater is depleting regularly.
The Federation stated that even after many months, the situation is still the same for the societies. It also requested the authority to complete their works as soon as possible.
Alok Kumar, President of Federation of Apartment Owners Association, said that GDA has paid no heed to the complaints of the residents. “That's why we thought of the reminder and requested them to complete what they promised us,” he said.
Besides, the condition of the road in the area is in shambles. Weeks ago, a road in front of Delhi Public School in Ahinsa Khand II caved in twice within seven days, jeopardizing the lives of hundreds of students.
Last week, the federation also served a legal notice to the authority citing the deteriorating state of the road, sewer, and supply of Gangajal in Ahinsa Khand II.
