During the protest, the residents also demanded that the builder returns Rs 50 lakh which he charged extra in the electricity bill.
The residents of Galaxy North Avenue in Greater Noida’s Gaur City-1 held a protest against the developer for increasing the maintenance charge on Sunday.
Residents, holding banners and raising slogans, took to the streets after the developer increased the maintenance charges from Rs 2.15 to 2.60 within the span of two days.
During the protest, the residents also demanded that the builder returns Rs 50 lakh which he charged extra in the electricity bill.
According to the resident, the developer only buys 1000 KW of electricity from NPCL but charges for 2000 KW from them.
Before holding the protest, a meeting regarding the same was held with the developer who had accepted that an extra amount of over Rs 50 lakhs had been collected. The residents had then demanded to "stop the extra deduction and process the refund of the extra amount deducted till date."
To this, the builder had a clear response that he was ready to reduce the fix electric charges but in compensation, he would increase the maintenance charge. He also denied for any refund referring to losses on maintenance since last three years.
