GreNo: Road to Royal Court, not easy to travel

The homebuyers of Royal Court in Greater Noida’s sector 16 have given a written complaint against the builder for not giving them possession of the flat in spite of getting an occupancy certificate (OC) from the authority and taking extra charges.

After getting the OC, the builder was given 60 days to complete the electric wiring, lift installation and other finishing and construction work but the time period lapsed and nothing was ready.

The first due date for the possession of the flats was August 2016 which was also ignored by the builder.

The homebuyers told our reporter that three years have been passed to the first due date and they have not yet got the possession of their flats. Moreover, the construction work has come to a standstill.

A homebuyer said, “I am from Bihar and have lived all my life in a rented accommodation. When we booked this flat in 2014, we thought after 30 years we will have our own home.”

Another homebuyer said, “I bought this flat seeing that my other friends were also buying houses. I am paying EMI for a house that I don’t even have registry of.”

When our reporter visited the site of Royal Court, the road leading to this unfinished high-rise was in a bad shape. There were deep craters filled mud and water towards the road. The road was secluded and every car which turned towards road soon had to take a U-turn realising that the road ahead was not meant to be travelled on. There were live electric wires lying in the muddy water, bricks and other construction material were lying on the sides of the road.

In and around the Royal court there were several projects which were either semi-constructed or were lying abandoned by the builders.
