The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) will soon be issuing notices to property owners and associations who are found devoid of proper fire safety norms under the Harayana Fire Service Act 2009.
The notices will be issued to four properties including, Qutub Plaza Condominium in DLF Phase-1, Ultra Home Construction Private Limited in IMT Manesar, Scottish Mall on Sohna Road and SVK Traders Private Limited Business Center in Sushant Lok-1.
The Urban Local Bodies Department approved the MCG to take necessary actions against the violators under the Haryana Fire Safety Act, 2009.
MCG Commissioner Amit Khatri said, "The fire department had already issued the notices to these four buildings, asking them to comply with the norms laid under the Haryana Fire Service Act-2009. But now, the authority will take action against the defaulters for not complying with the regulations."
Additional Municipal Commissioner YS Gupta said, "This is the first time when such an action has been approved. The MCG has sought approval from the headquarters to seal the banquet halls, schools and other buildings that are not complying with the fire safety regulations."
Gupta further added, "a final on the spot inspection on the four buildings will be don. If they are found not following the rules, they will be sealed."
Apart from these four defaulters, the other 12 schools have also been identified and directed to ensure compliance of the Haryana Fire Service Act 2009. If they are also found violating the safety norms then the schools too will be sealed.
These schools include, Shivnadar School in Faridabad Road, Vivek Model School in Kanhai, Greenwood Public School in Sector 9, Greenwood Public School in Sector-10A, Saraswati Model School in Haley Mandi, Divine Dale International School in Sherpur, Vinayak Public School in Patel Nagar, Umak Educational Trust Garhi Wajidpur, Narayana E Techno School in Palam Vihar, Amity Indian Military College in Gwalior Panchgaon, Pathfinder Global School in Pataudi and Sanskar School in South City 2.
