Dwarka: Overgrown grass in parks keep visitors at bay

Dwarka residents are annoyed with the overgrown grass in DDA parks. It is a common scenario of all parks during the monsoon.

The residents claimed that the grass has partially covered almost every facility including, benches, open gym, and other recreational facilities that make it impossible for the park goers to use them.

VK Singh a resident of Sector 19 said, "The overgrown grass is annoying and the civic authorities must clean it as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, residents of the other societies said that they feared of vector-borne diseases breeding in the parks. Besides, the presence of other reptiles or insects was keeping the residents from visiting the parks. Sarita Choudhary another resident of Sector 7 said, "Mosquito presence in the parks makes it impossible to sit and relax. Plus, we also fear of diseases like Dengue and Malaria. Parks should be maintained on a regular basis, especially during monsoon."

On the subject, the Horticulture Department of the SDMC and DDA said that grass cutting has already started and soon all such overgrown grasses would be clear from all parks.
