With no end to the growing incidents of snatching in Greater Noida West, a 55-year-old resident of tower 17 in La Residentia became the latest victim of purse snatching on Wednesday.

The incident took place in the afternoon near Gaur chowk area while the woman was en route to her home in an auto-rickshaw.

According to a family friend, the woman was seated in an auto when two motorcycle-borne men wearing helmets snatched her purse which had Rs 10,000 and several other documents.

"They snatched the purse with so much of intensity that purse's string was ripped", he added.

He further added that after the accused snatched the woman's wallet, and moved 70-80 meters away, they preyed on a man who was a pillion rider and snatched his chain.

After the incident, the woman tried to follow the accused but lost them on a four-way junction.

The officials at Bisrakh police station said that an FIR has been lodged and the matter is being investigated.
