Dwarka: Sector 22 residents demand proper maintenance of neighbourhood park

Residents of sector 22 demand proper maintenance of the park behind Jagran Apartments. The park which falls under South Delhi Municipal Corporation(SDMC) is in a poor condition.

Shashi Kapoor, president of Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi, a social organisation of senior citizens, shared the photographs highlighting the poor upkeep of the park. Kapoor resides in front of the park in Dream Apartments, Sector 22 and is a regular visitor to the park.

He said, “The park has overgrown trees, plants and bushes which need pruning. Moreover, there is a lack of proper lighting, swings for children are in a neglected state and even the walking track needs maintenance. I have apprised SDMC about the condition of the park.”

The residents of the neighbouring societies, such as Jagran Apartments, Dream Apartments, Delhi Apartments and Chitrakoot Apartments also use the park. The residents said that the maintenance of the park should be done regularly.

Pramila Malik, a resident of Jagran Apartments said, “Although the park is at the backside of the societies but it is important to keep it properly lit. Many incidences of theft have occurred in the past within the societies as miscreants entered the society from the park. Therefore, the park should be properly lit and maintained. I request SDMC to consider our issue.”

Director Press Information, SDMC, Radha Krishna said they will take the subject into concern.
