Gurugram: MCG to make water meters mandatory

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) held a house meeting on Friday and discussed as many as 22 agendas including, installation of water meters and others. 

Under the Urban Water Policy, installation of water meters at all residential as well as the commercial properties have been made mandatory. Following the decision, the MCG is going to initiate the installation of water meters on all the connections. Consumers who do not get the water meters will get the water bills on the basis of the flat rate.

Apart from that, the issue of considering the Ardee City and Malibu Town under the corporation was also discussed. 

During the meeting, agendas like allotting rupees one crore for the development works, a schedule for tree pruning machine and sewer cleaning work, replacing old sewage lines with the new, construction of international swimming pool were also discussed. 

The meeting was attended by Senior Deputy Mayor Pramila Gaje Singh Kabalana, Deputy Mayor Sunita Yadav, MCG Commissioner Amit Khatri, Additional Municipal Commissioner Rahul Hooda, and Additional Municipal Commissioner YS Gupta were present along with the councillors and senior officials of MCG.
