After long-nine years of struggle and complaints, Ravi P may finally get the justice he was looking for. Ravi is among many other homebuyers who are still waiting for the possession of their dream homes.
According to Ravi, he had booked a flat in Supertech Eco-Village 1 in Greater Noida West in 2010 but, he did not get the possession. Tired of false promises, Ravi finally decided to approach the conciliation forum of the Greater Noida bench of Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) and demanded his money back.
"I had paid up to 90 percent payment of my flat and had approached the conciliation forum to get a refund because I assumed that I am not going to get my flat in near days. I was convinced by the RERA officials that getting the refund will not be easy as most of the developers are going through a financial crisis,” said Ravi.
Flat or refund?
After suffering for nine years Ravi was confused whether he should demand the flat's possession or ask for his money. "I said I cannot wait any longer. Either give me my flat's possession or return my money. Finally, the developer was directed to give the possession of the said flat by September 30 or refund the money with interest. I am hopeful I will get justice in any way. Whatever comes, I will have to wait till September 30," added Ravi.
