After reports of misuse of new traffic regulations, Uttar Pradesh traffic department has circulated a notice for all its officials on Thursday.

The new traffic regulation of the New Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Act, 2019 was implemented on September 1, increasing the penalty on several violations.

Amidst the incidents of high challan for the violation, the traffic department in a notice on September 12 asked its officials not to stop vehicles just to check papers.

It was instructed that vehicles should only be stopped by the official when it violates traffic rules like not wearing a helmet and seat belts etc.

The officers were told to check two-wheelers and cars including SUV and other luxury vehicles as well.

The notice said that the inquiry against the violator should be done in a fair and transparent manner.

Recently, people had also been tweeting that the PUC centres have been charging them more than fixed-rate.

Also, there have been incidents where an e-challan was sent to a Noida resident for not wearing a helmet while the concerned resident had no two-wheeler and the challan issued against the number was that of a car and not a two-wheeler.

Talking to CitySpidey, another resident, who was served an e-challan for a car he doesn't own, said that he was told that the camera installed at Sector 25 had a problem.
