Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya (RPVV), a school-based in Sector 10, Dwarka, has topped the rankings for government day schools in the country, according to a survey by the Annual Education World Rankings 2019. The survey was carried out across thousands of schools across India. These schools were ranked on 14 parameters like academics, co-curricular education, leadership/management, life skills education, community service and others.

Under 'India's top government day schools' category, two other Delhi government-run schools made to the top rankings, RPVV Lajpat Nagar and Rohini. While RPVV Lajpat Nagar has jumped from seventh to the sixth position, RPVV Rohini has made to the top ten and is now at seventh place.

Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, took to the twitter and congratulated the principal and staff members of these schools.

"A Delhi government school in Dwarka has been named the best government school in the country. Two more are in the Top 10. Congrats to all teachers, principals and officials. It is your effort that has made Delhi proud today," tweeted Kejriwal.

Meanwhile, the announcement has brought joy to not only the staff members but to the parents and the students too. Proud Dwarkites are sharing the news over WhatsApp groups. Sarika Awasthi, a resident of Sector 10 said, “This is a moment of proud for us. It shows that government schools are improving. This particular school has already given many toppers in the past. So I am proud of their achievements.”

A member of the School Management Committee (SMC) of the school and resident of Ekta Apartments Sector 3, Madhury Varshney said, “As a resident of Dwarka and being a social worker of the school, it's a proud moment for me seeing our government school on the top. Efforts and vision of Delhi government can be seen finally on the ground especially for bringing inclusivity from all front whether it is policy, department, principal, teacher and SMC etc.”

Other schools like Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Madras, Chennai; and GVHSS for Girls, Nadakkavu, Kozhikode, are at second place, followed by Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Bombay, Powai, at position number 3. The rankings were released by Education World (EW), a portal for educators, teachers, and parents that releases rankings of the school annually.
