On the occasion of the 550th Prakash Parav, birthday of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev, a tree plantation drive was organised by Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Sector 11, Dwarka.

It was inaugurated by ACP Dwarka, Rajinder Singh who planted a tree near Gurdwara.

In his inaugural address, he expressed happiness over his association in the noble cause. He said that he has seen the seriousness of Sikh community towards the work that they take up. They carry out their work with full zeal and responsibility.

While welcoming the chief guest, Jagmit Singh Chahal said that the city was proud to have police officers like Rajinder Singh. He explained the programmes undertaken by the Sri Guru Singh Sabha to celebrate the Prakash Parav.

He said that 550 trees would be planted in Dwarka on this holy occasion. “Many trees have been planted in the past. They have grown well. The planted trees include Arjun, Barh, Peepal, Neem etc.”

More than 350 trees were properly planted. There are plans to plant more trees in the near future. Two water tankers were engaged for watering the plants. A large number of people participated in the drive.
