Indirapuram: Shipra Krishna Vista residents complain against maintenance agency

Residents of Shipra Krishna Vista, a high-rise in Indirapuram, approached the area’s police station on Sunday to file a complaint against the maintenance agency following an altercation with its staff.

The residents complained that the agency, which is reportedly appointed by the developer to look after the society’s maintenance work, refused to accept cheques issued in the developer’s name.

The agency demanded the cheques to be issued in its name. However, the residents claimed that till the last month, the cheques were issued in the name of the developer which is Shipra Estate Limited.

The residents claimed that they refused to deposit cheques in the agency’s name because they were afraid that the developer would keep itself aside from the issues which may come regarding maintenance in the future.

“The society's maintenance is yet to be handed over to the RWA. By appointing an agency to look after the maintenance, the builder is attempting to run away from its responsibilities towards the society,” said Arun Rai, one of the complainants and ex-president of the society's RWA.

Meanwhile, the situation became worst when the residents spotted two bouncers inside the society. The residents perceived it as a threat and demanded them to leave the premises. They even called the police.

“We have RWA in the society but the builder took this decision on its own. We are completely against this,” Rai added.

Besides, the maintenance agency also complained against the residents for misbehaving with them.  Deepankar Kumar, manager at the maintenance firm, said that a few residents, who had an issue with the cheque, misbehaved with the maintenance staff.

Police have received complaints from both the sides and have called both the parties to resolve the issue amicably. “We have invited both the parties to come, sit and talk regarding the matter. It will be good if the issue is resolved amicably,” said Deepak Sharma, SHO, Indirapuram Police station.

The residents also requested the police to direct the maintenance agency to accept cheques issued in the name of the developer.

CitySpidey tried to get in touch with the developer but our repetitive calls and messages went unanswered.
